From Sheep to Fibre, a day of Wool
Spend the day learning about wool and how it is grown, harvested and made into usable natural fibre for use in the textile industry and by crafters.
The morning will be spent learning in-depth about the processing of wool from sheep to usable fibre. See how our three different certified organic breeds produce different types and grades of wool, suitable for many different uses depending on individual characteristics.
After a delicious lunch you will experience hands-on raw wool being prepared from sheep to fibre to be then used to felt & weave beautiful textile home products.

Wool Lampshade Making
Spend the day learning about wool and creating two lampshades using different techniques. Wool filters and diffuses light beautifully and is naturally fire retardant.
The morning will begin by learning about the processing of wool from sheep to usable fibre. You will then make a sheet of wool textile to your unique design using the fine wet felting technique. Following this, you will create a moulded felted piece, suitable for use as a hanging lampshade. After a delicious lunch you will use your uniquely designed fine wool fabric to make your second lampshade ready to use at home.

A Creative Day of Felting
An introduction to the world of felting. An ancient craft dating back to 6500 BC, where no glues or chemicals are used, just soap, warm water and our hands. Spend the morning learning about sheepwool farming.
After a delicious lunch, using wool from the certified organic flock on the farm, learn about this incredible technology, and hands-on how to wet felt a beautiful, handmade unique wild wool collar or seat pad to take home.

A Creative Day of Weaving
This workshop is about understanding the different weaving methods and types of looms, from primitive to industrial size floor looms.
Learn about sheep wool, how it is grown, harvested, & processed into yarn and how our three different certified organic breeds produce different types and grades of wool. After a delicious lunch, learn how to create unique woven textile pieces on handmade peglooms.
